Disney Cruise Line!  Who would have thought, way back in 1998, that the company that brought you Mickey Mouse and Lion King, would figure out the formula for providing award winning cruises and designing a magical cruise experience that would keep families coming back for more at an industry setting pace.  Consider this:
  • Spacious cabins and suites built with families in mind - and most feature 1 ˝ baths. Even the smallest, at 184 square feet, is well above the industry norm of 150 square feet.
  • Five, distinct and amazing programs for kids 3-17. In fact, almost an entire deck is devoted to kids and teens.
  • On Disney, teenagers have their own place to hang, including a private club/café
  • For grown ups, there are separate, adults-only entertainment venues, an adults -only pool, and an adults-only restaurant. Even their private isle has a beach that's off limits to kids.
  • Only Disney offers "rotational dining" where you and your wait staff move to a different dining atmosphere each night. Kids (and their parents) love it.
  • The icing on the cake is Disney's unique, all-inclusive, 7-Night land and sea packages - a vacation exclusive.
  • And here’s something new – Segways! – those two-wheeled, gyroscopically-balanced personal transports – on every cruise! There are four on each ship for passengers to try. Staff members use them on the ship and at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

If you're concerned that the Disney Magic and Wonder are designed for the kids and not their parents, worry no more. With adults in mind, Disney styled its two ships after yesteryear's majestic transatlantic cruise liners. Their mature Art Nouveau (Wonder) and Art Deco (Magic) styles, richly appointed rooms with hand-woven rugs and polished woods maintain the ships' romance and elegance.

That said - Disney is still very much a cruise line for kids and the young at heart. Tightly run programs and enthusiastic staff members - not to mention regular appearances from Mickey and the gang - keep your kids amused and involved. And with the kids up to their mouse ears in events and activities, your usual vacation role as Camp Counselor is history. Onboard, there's an adults-only pool, an adults-only restaurant, and plenty of late night entertainment geared towards grown up audiences. But though you'll find plenty of bars and lounges onboard, Uncle Walt won't let you gamble your money away. That's right - no casino. Trust us…you won't miss it.

In the evening you'll meet for a fun dinner and share your adventures. Talk about quality family time! And with their rotational dining program, you and your wait staff move each night to a different dining adventure - a feature unique to the Disney Cruise Line. The Disney team arranges it so that similar groups of travelers (families with young children, couples, singles, etc.) dine together in the same rotation. As always, Disney strives to keep everyone happy by tying up all the loose ends. Disney has it down.

In short, if you're looking for the most well rounded family cruise line - you've found it.

Now here's another thing to think about: Disney's 7-Night Land and Sea Vacations.

Mention to your kids that you're taking them along on a Disney cruise and you can bet that they're expecting a visit to Disney World as well. And, of course, you've got to do both. Not taking them there would be like treating them to a trip to the candy store, showing them the light fixtures, and then walking out. Spare yourself the headache of trying to piece together a cruise and juggling the logistics of a theme park visit. Streamline your purchase by choosing one of Disney's 7-Night Land and Sea Vacation packages.

Why? Because a Land and Sea Vacation gives you:

  • More Convenience. One call does it all
  • More Action. Staying at a close-in Disney resort puts you right where you want to be
  • More Access. Some packages allow early park access one hour before the general public
  • More fun. Park-Hopper Pass allows convenient access to multiple parks within Disney World
  • More food! You have the option to include meals in your package - a great idea if you're on a limited budget

Buying a Disney Land and Sea Vacation package offers you a unique and seamless Disney experience. Click Here for Disney World Tickets.

The Atrium - Just because you're on a cruise that's kid friendly, not every environment need be clowns and calliopes. You'll note this when you step into the Atrium. The ship's hub and boarding point, it's where you'll find access to shopping, dining, guest services, or after-the-kids-are-asleep fun at Beat Street. Though there are elevators, you may prefer either of its sweeping staircases to take in the room's grand deco splendor and beautiful glass chandelier. You'll love the tasteful quality of the room; the kids will love the statue of Mickey by the stairs.

Guest Services - For your convenience, Disney Magic has a one-stop-shop Guest Services Desk. Anything and everything from questions about the ship, to complaints, to cashing a personal check or exchanging US dollars for currency or Disney Dollars can be done here. With two desks located in the Atrium lobby, you've just cut your problems in half.

Upbeat - Located on Deck 3 in the Beat Street area, tucked away from the prying eyes of the kiddies, you'll find Upbeat. In addition to the Beat Street mementos you can buy to remind you of the fun nights you spent there dancing, singing, and laughing, you can buy duty free liquor and cigarettes. The ship asks that you do not consume these on board (and shhhh don't tell the kids). Mickey's Mates - One can never have enough Mickey shirts. It's a fact. And if ever that were to happen (Uncle Scrooge forbid!) you still have Minnie, Goofy, and let's not forget about Donald. Located on Deck 4, Mickey's Mates will have you looking like a mousketeer in no time. Treasure Ketch - An upscale shop for ladies and gentlemen, the Treasure Ketch is the ship's boutique. A destination for the real shopper, you'll find an array of lovely crystal, watches, and fragrances as well as exclusive Disney animation cells and keepsakes. Try on the some of the sportswear, swimwear, and featured intimate apparel, and you'll crow like a pirate, "Arrgh! That's some booty!"
Goofy's Pool - Goofy's Pool is the family area pool. Generous space, a modest sized pool, and two whirlpools allow for family fun in a composed atmosphere. At night, a deck is put over the pool and the area is used for shows and concerts. Quiet Cove- Shhhhhhhhh. Relax, tranquilly, at the Quiet Cove.  God bless kids. You got to love 'em (especially when they're not yours)! For those moments when you don't want a child screaming in your ear, or to get splashed from a cannonball dive, there's the tranquility of the Quiet Cove. With the Signals Bar and two whirlpools you may never want to leave. Located fore on the Deck 9, there're no kids allowed. Card Room - If you've got the itch for a serious game of Old Maid, or Go Fish, you'll find the Card Room Located mid-ship on Deck 2.

Need to check your stocks, or e-mail your friends?  You'll find the Internet Café tucked in a corner at the Promenade Lounge where, for a fee, you can access the Net. For the teen scene, there's also access at the Common Grounds Café. Self Service Laundry - If you need some suds for your duds there's a self-serve launderette. The machines are coin operated, with free iron use. If you need dry-cleaning, same day service is available with pick-up from your bedroom. Shutters - Hands too full with your kids to worry about a camera?
Don't worry! Photographers from Shutters, the onboard gallery, roam the ship snapping photos capturing the priceless moments. Thumbnails will be sent to your staterooms. If you see something you like, you can head down to the gallery and buy your keepsake.
ESPN Locker Room - If putting on your best black and whites brings images of donning your referee shirt, you may want to find yourself at the ESPN Locker Room. Located on Deck 10, you'll find sports memorabilia and mementos from the ESPN Skybox to add to your collection at home. Mickey's Pool - What kid doesn't love to waterslide into a pool? At Mickey's Pool you'll find a pool shaped like your favorite mouse with a one-story slide leading right into its suspiciously extra warm water (hint think first letter of pool). Located aft on Deck 9, this pool is a real splash with the kids. Conference Room - In case you've got some business to mix with your pleasure, or just need a room to meet as a group, Guest Services will arrange for you to use the special room located mid-ship on Deck 2.
